..Driver license
 
You must be a permanent Nevada resident to obtain a Nevada Driver License. The fee for a Driver License is $21.75, $16.75 for those 65 and older.

Within 30 days of moving to Nevada, you must transfer your out-of-state license to a Nevada license. To do this, you will need the following:

Your current valid driver license containing your name and birth date.
If you do not have a valid drivers license due to it being expired, suspended or revoked, you will need to take a written test and possibly a skills test. Please refer to the DMV for further info on suspended or revoked licenses.

Proof of your social security number
You may need to bring in your social security card.

Additional proof of identity (if needed)
If you have a driver’s license from one of the following states you will have to provide additional proof of identity.

..Vehicle registration
 
The basic registration fee for vehicles under 6,000 pounds is $33. There is a graduated scale for higher weights. Trailers up to 1,000 pounds are $12 and 1,000 pounds or more are $24. Nevada charges $28.25 for first-time vehicle titles and other small fees for items such as license plates.

Nevada also charges taxes based on the value of the vehicle:

Governmental Services Tax
Funds local government and schools.
Approximately 1.4% of the depreciated MSRP

Supplemental Gov. Services Tax Funds road improvements. 25% of Governmental Services Tax (Clark, Washoe and Churchill counties only).

Sales Taxes on Purchases
Rates vary by county. See the Nevada Sales Tax Map. The full rate applies to dealer sales. The rate on private party vehicle purchases is 2% less. Taxes on private party sales are calculated on depreciated MSRP or a DMV appraisal. NRS 374.112
